Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of mixed reality (MR) features in Power Apps, which include the View in 3D, View in MR, View Shape in MR, and Measure in MR components.
With hundreds of millions of MR-capable mobile devices in the hands of business users, every maker will be able to leverage the power of mixed reality to digitize workflows in physical space in new and innovative ways.
Communicate better with 3D models and images
Understand how products will look in a space quickly and easily using your mobile device. Your users can visualize 3D models and images, place them in the real world, and take a photo of the scene to share with others. This content can be stored in or existing data connectors to other locations such as SharePoint and OneDrive.
Take linear or volumetric measurements to understand the dimensions of the physical world directly through Power Apps. These measurements, including the calculated area / volume and bounding box, can kick off automated processes or be stored back into your data source.
Validate fit before work begins
Use volumetric representations to find out if a pathway is large enough, how the product will fit, or how placement might impact line of sight. These volumetric representations can be customized by your users to validate fit.
