Announcing Availability Expansion of the SSRS Migration Tool to Power BI

Since the announcement of paginated reports in Pro, we have seen a significant increase in interest from our on-premises SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) customers in migration to Power BI service.  As a result, our team has been working diligently to make the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) migration tool not only available in the latest version of SQL Server Reporting Services 2022, but also available to customers running previous versions of SSRS.

Today we are announcing the expansion of the migration tool functionality for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). The migration tool is now available in SSRS 2019 – version 15.0.1102.1047 and SSRS 2017 – version 14.0.601.20. You can download the updated application from the download center.

If you are interested in reading a step-by-step instruction guide, follow the link to our documentation article. The guided article provides publishing instructions for customers running SQL Server Reporting Services .rdl files on-premises as well as customers running Power BI Report Server .rdl and .pbix files.

And if reading documentation isn’t as exciting for you as it is for me, then check out Patrick’s video at the Guy in a Cube YouTube channel! He will walk you through the migration process and give you some key take-aways.

As a reminder, we are always interested in your feedback, so please comment below.
